A large amount of saw logs have been cut in Mara this year. There is much talk in Mara about railway matters and especially about the Ontario and Pacific Junction, which we fully expect will start from this place—being much shorter to Gravenhurst than from any other point. From here the Midland Railway starts to run west to Orillia, and as the Midland started to run a branch from here to Longford Mills, and purchased right of way, surveyed and chopped a part of the distance, it is said the Ontario and Pacific will take the same line. It is also said that the Dominion Air Line Company are asking for a charter from the Dominion Parliament for a line between Montreal and Beaverton on the southern terminus of the Ontario and Pacific Junction.
