On account of the rain the laying of the corner stone of the Methodist church was postponed from Wednesday until Thursday evening last week. There was about $200 raised.
On Friday evening the Royal Templars had a very pleasant time at their strawberry festival.
The Salvation Army held three meetings in Oak Orchard on Sunday which were well attended. The best attention was given. Capts. Wynn and Heift, and others from Orillia, the Ensign from Barrie, Mr. and Mrs. James, and others of Atherley, and the Indian Salvationists form Rama, took part in the meetings.
Quite a large number of tourists have arrived in Atherley and Invermara for the summer.
