John Cullen officiated over the last rites for this splendid man, before a church that was filled with friends who came to offer their last respect to their neighbor and friend.
Thomas Fee was born in Lindsay, Ontario, August 10,1855, to Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Fee, who in March 1881, came to Walsh county where they settled on a farm near Conway, and continued to farm until 1900 when the land was turned over to their children, and they came to Minto where they lived. Thom followed the activity of his father and became one of the county’s prosperous and highly esteemed farmers. In 1882, the year following their arrival here, he married Charlotte McGarrity, and to them were born 6 children, 5 of whom are living. Oscar, of Jasper Alberta, Tom of Rifle,CO., Kate Neimeyer, of Moline, IL.,Elizabeth Mullen, of Kenmare, ND. Herbert is deceased.
About thirty years ago, Tom came to town and settled, retired. In 1918, Mrs. Fee died. In 1928 Tom married Mrs. Martha Riske, and with her he lived until his death last Friday morning.
Surviving are his wife, his five children and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Donnelly of Grand Forks; Mrs. Marie Snellbaker of LaCrosse, WI; and Mrs. Belvie Balmer of Corinth, ND all of whom were here except Tom, who had to return to his duties; and many nephews and nieces who reside in this locality.
Mr. Fee was a member of St.Patricks Church for many years, and it was from this same church just 28 years ago that Rev. Fr.Considine officiated at the burial services of his mother, Mrs. Wm. Fee, who died May 17, 1910 at the age of82 and a half years.
