Hello-- I do not know of an active genealogist in the Ramara area-- You can find the land records for Mara and Rama, at the Simcoe Land registry office, in Barrie. After a considerable time searching the obits of the Orillia Packet &Times, to no avail, I did find an obituary on Patrick Moffatt, in the Oil City, Pa, newspaper. He died 18 June 1949, at the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital. He is buried in an unmarked grave in St. Andrew's Cemetry, Brechin....

you may find a Estate documents like a Will, at the Ontario Archives, visit www.archives.gov.on.ca for more info. Also, the Simcoe County land registery office in Barrie, may be worth a visit. Thank you- Mary Walsh - would would have been his grand daughter- born in Oil City, PA 1907- died in Oil City, 2005. Mary's mother Margaret Catherine Moffatt (Mrs. John Walsh) was born in Mara- 1879. she died in Oil City, PA 1960.---

Sounds like you have done a lot of research and things are well in hand.

I will keep a eye out for the story on the person in Mud Lake. The book on the pioneers of Mara has a copy of the Orillia Packet and Times obits for Mrs. Robert Monahan nee Danton, july 1, 1943 & Ben Danton 13 jan. 1944
