The property where the fair was originally held belonged to Franks Grandfather Thomas Cooper who moved there in 1876. It is Lot 16 Con N Rama twp. The building is still standing and even though its accross the road from the Coopers old store it is in Ramara twp. Back then the building was also used ...

I had no luck finding a death registration for Ellen. The book- 'they came to mara' page 691, indicates she died in 1882. She was R.C., but there are no grave markers in either St. Andrew's or St. Columbkille's, that bear her or her husband's name. A search of the death/burial records of these Churc...

The Census info suggests that Michael McLean and Ellen Collision McLean had a daughter, Rosie McLean (b.1823, Dundas, Ont.), who married Andrew Holmes (b.1817 in Scotland) and lived with her husband and family in Mara from 1852-1881.
