ROBERT N. ROWSE December 24, 1944 July 23, 2009 Peacefully dearest Robert Bob , (son of Newell Rowse and Edith McLeod, husband of Susana Garcia Rowse, brother of John and Janet) went home to the kingdom of God on Thursday, July 23, 2009. His wife Susana, niece Maria Kenneth and nephew Arnold (Grace) are on his side. Uncle Bob attended Kelvin High School and University of Manitoba but he pursued business administration through correspondence. He worked at the Air Force Reserve for a few years and later at Canada Customs and Excise (November 7 1966 November 15, 2001) for thirty five years. He is proud of his job, a peace maker. He enjoyed going to the lake. They had a cottage in Gimli (once) at Moonlight Bay Street. He is happy to say that the cottage was built with his own hands with the help of a friend. The smell of the cottage, fresh air, the birds singing, waking him up early in the morning and walking by the shore hand in hand with Aunt Susan made him very happy and young at heart. As a young man he always looked forward to visiting his grandparents in Ontario for several reasons. His grandfather had an old automobile that he really liked and his grandmother was a very good cook; most of all they were good and caring people. His passions were reading books and watching television, particularly Startrek , John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. Most of all he loved cats. The biggest happiness and fulfillment of his life was when he met and married his wife Susan. They were married on February 14, 1990 and it lasted 19 years (but they have no children). They were blessed with numerous nieces and nephews from the Philippines and Canada which they accepted with love and treated as their own children. Uncle Bob was happy that they were able to help, give and love them. His love for his mother-in-law (our Lola Inang Rosing) was so great too. Uncle Bob never expected anything in return as he said that whatever they have done for them, God would be the one to repay them abundantly. The Philippines was uncle Bob's second home. He always looked forward to visiting Inang Rosing and our family back home. The heat did not bother him at all. San Miguel beer quenched his thirst and the Filipino food he enjoyed so much. But it is the hospitality that he cannot forget. He always mentioned that he was treated like a King. We would like everybody to know that Uncle Bob was a very, very special, gentle, loving, caring husband, son-in-law and friend. Aunt Susan was truly blessed that she couldn't ask for anything else. He is simple and pure. He had a heart of gold; so big, loving, caring, and generous. Thank you Uncle Bob for everything. We will miss you so much! Rest in peace. A special thank you to all the physicians, nurses, nurse's aides and all who cared for Uncle Bob at Health Sciences Centre and Grace Hospital. For all the strangers that became the couple's true friends ; Don and Whelma and children, Tita Faye Gair, Marilyn and Shanon (social workers of Grace Hospital) Norm Brown, Ernie (palliative and volunteer of Grace Hospital), Jo Corr our parish assistant (St. Paul the Apostle) and Major Ron, Thank you so much. Rev. Father Mark Tarrant you are truly God's messenger and instrument. Thank you so much for everything! God bless you all!
