  • Notes 
    • Joseph Gould was a personal friend of William Lyon Mackenzie who became the first mayor of Toronto in 1834. Together they had to spend over a year in confinment for their part in the Rebellion of 1837. later he became a member of the Provincial Parliament. He is credited with becoming the founder of Uxbridge. He changed the spelling of the family name. He died leaving eleven children and an estate of $300,000.
