Mr. Allan Kanto, age 69 years, passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side on Wednesday, December 7th, 2005 on the Hospice Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital. Allan was born on July 23rd, 1936 in Port Arthur, ON. He was a jack of all trades. As a young man and starting his family he worked for Kellogg's Dairy. Allan returned to school and then started working for Westinghouse making his way up to management. His final years employed were at Confederation College and he retired in August of 1996 after 24 years. In his younger years he played baseball in the Independent Order of Foresters. He was a longtime member and time keeper for the Elks and in the last couple of years he established many friendships in the Ezyduzit curling league. Allan was always ready to lend a helping hand to all that knew him. His favorite times were those spent with his family as well as his summers at Northern Lights. Allan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Adele, daughter Debbie (Ron) Del Pino, grandchildren Angie (Jason) Timko and Lisa, son Dwayne, grandchildren Jeremy, Jordan (Terry), Cody, Melissa and great grandson Haiden, daughter Loretta (Mike) Turpin, grandchildren Devin and Leah, brother Edwin Kanto and family, sister Adele Olson and family and sister-in-law Geraldine.
