Albert Evan Burton BURTON
BURTON, Albert Evan Burton - (WWII Veteran RCAF; Retired Insurance Agent; Former longtime employee of the Bank of Montreal) January 31, 1919 - February 2, 2011 - Passed peacefully on February 2, 2011 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Marguerite (Benner) Burton for 68 years. Much loved father of Joanne Burton of Waterloo, Jim Burton of Niagara-on-the- Lake and Bruce and Shirley Burton of Calgary. Loved grandfather of 12 and great- grandfather of 13. Born in Orillia, Albert was a graduate of O.D.C.V.I. He was a WW II veteran stationed in Gander, Newfoundland, and an accountant in the Bank of Montreal in Perth, Ontario. In 1951 he returned to Orillia to become an insurance agent at Church, Cooke and Burton Insurance. This eventually became A.E. Burton Insurance where he worked for close to 30 years. He will be greatly missed by family and friends for his spiritual strength, fortitude and wisdom. He will always be remembered by all for the fine example he set of a man with all aspects of his life in balance. He was a true gentleman. The family is grateful to the staff of Victoria House & Soldiers' Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care given to their father. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday afternoon, February 5, 2011 at 4 o'clock. Interment St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery
