(Mary) Loretta BARRETT
February 24, 1914 - November 13, 2006
BARRETT, (Mary) Loretta - Born February 24, 1914, deceased November 13, 2006. Loretta has left this world in her 93rd year and given her faith, has moved on to a better place. Born in Sudbury, Ontario, she was the precious daughter of Alexina (nee Ducharme) and John Gougeon. Married on December 29, 1934 she was predeceased on October 27, 1996 by the love of her life, James L. (Jim) Barrett, with whom she grew older, wiser and more special during their 62 years of marriage. She was the treasured sister of Ted Gougeon (wife Grace, both deceased), Lorne Gougeon (deceased, wife Vicki), Desmond Gougeon (deceased), Cecilia Gougeon (deceased), Herbert Gougeon (deceased, wife Cecilia), Stella Gougeon (deceased) and George Gougeon (deceased, wife Agnes). She was the proud, loving and caring mother of Shirley Clements (husband Marcel, deceased), Gale Barrett (deceased), Brian Barrett (wife Barbara) and Lynda Allan (husband John). She was the adored Nana of many lucky grandchildren: Louis Clements (wife Christina), Lori-Anne Clements, Heather Hillier (husband Randy), Scott Clements (wife Mari), Cindy Coulter (husband Laverne), Tracey Jones (husband Ron), James Barrett (wife Sarah), Lance Barrett (wife Guylaine), Brian Allan (wife Lori), Karen Bigger (husband Mike), Joseph Allan (fiancée Natalie) and Gordon Allan (partner Luc). She was the very special Great Grandmother and dear Nana to: Lara, Marissa, Alexina, Louisa, Taylor, Jake, Peter, Olivia, Derek, Chantel, Justin, James, Marissa, Kiera, Joshua and Daphnée. Many of whom had grown taller than her...she laughed about that. She was the dear Aunt of many nieces and nephews and she is survived by several cousins whom she loved very much. She had dear friends as well and she missed them when they passed from this earth. Loretta was strong, she was sweet, she was funny, she was beautiful and she was loving - we were lucky to have her in our lives for all of these years. We all thank her. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 16th, 2006, 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm at JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch Street, with funeral services taking place Friday, November 17th, 2006 at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church, 39 Walford Rd., both in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
