In 1906 he sold it to Jess Loyd and moved to Mone Vista District and bought 3 quarters of land.

In 1920 the family moved to Wetaskiwin for a short period and then to Lacombe where there children were able to receive a better education. Jerome Donnelly and Marie (Van Humbeck) took over the Monte Vista farm. Pat died of cancer in 1928.
