from the Winnipeg Free Press- Monday Jan. 19, 1948-- Miss Blanche Emes, Schoolteacher, Dies-- for 20 years a teacher on the staff of the Centennial school in West Kildonan, Miss Blanche Charlotte Emes, died Friday at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Thomas Morton, 96 Bannerman Ave. born in Winnipeg, Miss Emes had resided with her parents at Middlechurch, Man., for some years. She was a member of St. John's Cathedral. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Morton, Mrs. J.W. Baldock, & Mrs. William Aitken all of Winnipeg, Mrs. Robert Aitken of Montreal, P.Q. and Mrs. Ed Johnson of Selkirk, Man., and one brother John W. of Sprague, Man. The funeral service will be held at 2;15 pm, Wednesday with burial in the family plot, Elmwood cemetery.
