- James E. Moffatt
James E. Moffatt, age 71, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living Center, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009, at Hamot Medical Center. Born in Greensburg, Pa., on June 3, 1938, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Ruth M. (Crum) Moffatt. He served in the U.S. Army with the Military Police. While living in Lake Wylie, South Carolina, he was a member of the River Hills Golf and Country Club. He moved back to Erie in 2007 and before his retirement, was an Accountant at Zurn Corporation's Haysite Division. James was a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and Lake Shore Country Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Kim" Moffatt and an aunt, Mabel Crum. Survivors include a sister, Kathryn "Kit" Lowe, of Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Ann Moffatt Link, of Erie; a nephew, Craig Moffatt, of Erie; a niece, Kara Bennett, of Edinboro; and several other nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Brugger Home for Funerals L.L.P., 1595 W. 38th at Greengarden Blvd., Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until services at 11 o'clock. Very Rev. Theodore B. Marconi, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Church, will officiate. Private burial will follow.
