Notes - Muskoka Herald Feb 4 1932 "DEATH OF MRS. BROOKS. The death occurred suddenly on Sunday of Mrs. George C. Brooks in her 65th year. She was taken suddenly ill and died within a few hours. Mrs. Brooks was formerly Miss Jane Arthurs and was born in King Township. for 38 years she had been a resident of Bracebridge. Besides her husband Mrs. Brooks leaves two daughters, Mrs. Peter McNaughton (Cora) of Muskoka township, and Miss Hilda at home and 4 sons, Robert, Herman, of Bracebridge, Ross of Sudbury and Gilbert of Hamilton. She also leaves a brother Mr. Joseph Arthurs of Sebright. The funeral took place on Tuesday, interment being made in the Church of England cemetery. Rev. S. B. Griffiths conducted the services. All the members of the family were in attendance. The bearers were the four sons, Mr. P. McNaughton son in law, and Mr. Carman McNaughton grandson. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Mrs. Brooks was of quiet unassuming ways but of sterling Christian character. Her kindly manner and ever thoughtful ways endeared her to those with whom she came in contact with. Our sympathy is with the bereaved husband and family in their sudden loss"..
