Notes

per the 1897 Voter's list Martin's farm was on part of the south half of lot 7, Concession 9, of Mara Twp.-- 65 acres.

In August 1908, Martin decied to relocate to the USA, he and his son Thomas went ahead, and a month later Bridget, with her children Vincent, Mary Frederick, Irene, Stephen Clarence, Leonard, and two month old Sylven Cletus joined Martin. (note son Martin Louis remained in Mara Twp).

By 1911 they family had returned to Canada, and located in Toronto, where Martin was a carpenter. The 1911 census has Martin 53, Bridget 47, John J. 25, Mary 19, Irene 15, Stephen 13, Clarence 11, Leonard 6, Genevieve 9, and Cletus 2, all living at 62 St. Clarens Ave, Toronto.

The 1921 City of Toronto Directory, lists Martin a carpenter, living at 185 St. Helen's Ave.

obit- Toronto Daily Star, Aug. 20, 1945: O'DONNELL, Martin J.-- On Sunday Aug. 19, 1945, at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Martin J. O'Donnell, in his 88th year. Dearly loved husband of Bridget Gaughan, 185 St. Helen's Ave., dear father of Peter, Frank, Martin, Vincent, Mrs. O'Reilly (Mary) Fred, Mrs. Overend (Irene), Stephen Leonard and Cletus. Resting at the Ryan and Odette Funeral home .. Funeral Wednesday at 8:30am to St. Helen's Church for requiem mass at 10 o'clock. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
