• Notes

  Funeral for Alphonsus L. Kelly, a retired boiler operator from Northeast Portland, will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. Vault entombment will be private in River View Cemetery Mausoleum. Mr. Kelly died Friday in a Portland hospital at the age of 89. A native of Ransom County, N.D. he moved to Portland 41 years ago and worked for Trumbull Asphalt Co. for 27 years before retiring in 1969. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Clara A. Kelly; two sons, Arthur J. of Portland and Edward C. of Newark, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia L. Magenis of Beaverton and Nelllie Mackin of Portland; a sister, Mabel P. Baumgartner of Libson, N.D.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. [The Oregonian, 19 Nov 1984, p80]
