    • Roger W. Hedrington, 72, of 534 Irvine St., Chippewa Falls, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.

      He was born August 6, 1932, in Eau Claire to Elaine (Viets) and Eugene Hedrington. He grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 1950, where he was the first male cheerleader. After high school, he worked at Pregent Furniture.

      Roger married Karol D. Lewis on May 18, 1957, at St. Charles Borromeo in Chippewa Falls. He worked as manager of Colbert?s Shoe Store for 10 years, in Chippewa Falls, Marshfield, Eau Claire and in South Dakota, where his two sons were born. They moved back to Chippewa Falls in 1964, and he was employed at Waterman?s. He had been employed for Wall to Wall Carpet One in Eau Claire for 30 years, where he was currently employed.

      He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls, the Moose Lodge and was the Past Secretary for the South Dakota Jaycees. He played in the Fun Softball League for ten years and enjoyed watching sports, the Packers and the Brewers, but especially his children and grandchildren.

      Survivors include his wife, Karol; two sons, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Hedrington of Madison, Paul (Deb) Hedrington of Blaine, Minn.; his mother, Elaine Thompson of Chippewa Falls; four sisters, Pat Hedrington and Bonnie (Doug) Gullickson, all of Chippewa Falls, Judy (Marvin) Elliott of Fort Myers, Fla., Janice (Robert) DeWitz of Wautoma; a brother, Dick (Barbara) Hedrington of Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren, Nathan, Alex, Justine, and Cassie; and nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents, Jay B. and Mabel Viets.

      A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, at First Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

      Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
