      Obituary: The Orillia Packet and Times, June 9, 1938:
      Mrs Francis F. Gaudaur died at Vancouver, British Columbia, on Wednesday, May 25, aged eighty-five years. Mrs Gaudaur was Maria Franklin, of Sparrow Lake. About sixty-five years ago she was married to Mr. Francis F. Gaudaur, of Atherley, who predeceased his wife in August 1926 [sic]. When they were first married they resided at Atherley, where Mr. Gaudaur was a blacksmith. Leaving Atherley, they resided for some time in Victoria Harbor and Haileybury. On Mr. Gaudaur's retirement they came back to Atherley to live. After his death in 1926 [sic] Mrs. Gaudaur left for Vancouver to make her home where she has a sister, the former Polly Franklin, of Sparrow Lake, and a daughter. During Mrs. Gaudaur's residence in Atherley she was an active member of the Anglican Church. Surviving are three daughters and two sons. Mrs D.J. Weir (Amy) of Lancaster California, Mrs. Frank Pickard [Clara], of Sudbury, Mrs. William Earwaker, Chester of California, and John of Haileybury, Miss Elizabeth Franklin of Sparrow Lake, is a sister, and she also leaves two brothers, John Franklin of Sparrow Lake and Richard Franklin of Toronto. There are twenty-seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. The funeral was held on Saturday, May 28. Interment was made in Ocean View Burial Park.
