DONNELLY, Patrick It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patrick Jerome Donnelly on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at the age of 69 years. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Regina and daughter, Carolyn. Pat was born in Rimbey, Alberta on February 5, 1935 to Jerome and Marie Donnelly. He loved the farm but also had a passion for learning. After obtaining an Agricultural Diploma in Vermilion, he chose to continue his education at the University of Alberta in Pharmacy. He practiced Pharmacy in both Bentley and Olds before moving on to the Faculty of Medicine. Pat completed his Orthopedic Fellowship in 1971 and moved to Red Deer in 1978. Pat was a kind and gentle man with nature close to his heart. He had a passion for hiking and farming. Pat was a man of humor and wit, a masterful chef, a passionate geographer and reader and a wine connoisseur. He loved his vehicles and knew the roads of Central Alberta like the back of his hand. Pat is survived by Regina and Carolyn; four sisters, Lucie Kelly of Rockville, Maryland, Evelyn (Laurie) Curran of West Vancouver, Doris Donnelly of Calgary and Phyllis (Pete) Giacomin of Montreal and one brother-in-law, Peter (Linda) Zuege of Calgary. Pat had numerous nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud. Two close friends who will sadly miss Pat are Remy Bejar and Sarah Odegard. Pat was predeceased by his parents, Jerome and Marie Donnelly, parents-in-law, Asta and Heinz Zuege, a sister, Bernice Leboldus and two brothers-in-law, Frank Leboldus and Jack Kelly. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. with The Rt. Reverend Monsignor Donald G. MacDonald celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bluffton, Alberta at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Pat's honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, 3942 - 50A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 6R2 or to Unit 32, Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, P.O. Box 5030, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 6R2.
