CHRISTENSEN, Robert E. June 14, 1924 - January 20, 2014 Passed away peacefully at his home on January 20, 2014. He was born June 14, 1924 in Rathdrum, Idaho to Chris and Sabina Christensen. He graduated from Reardan High School in 1942. He started work at Kaiser Aluminum in July 1946 where he met the love of his life Maretta McMullen. He was considered one of their well traveled milestoner as he transferred back and forth between plants. He retired after 37 years in March 1983. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time snowmobiling, fishing and hunting at the lake and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed a lifetime of working in the shop, repairing people's cars and when found the cause of the problem he would get a kick out of it and giggle and say he found the problem. In 1994 he started volunteering for the Christmas Bureau and later volunteered delivering Meals On Wheels up until 2011. Bob is survived by his son Robert L. Christensen, daughter-in-law Sandra Brown-Christensen; brother Chris Christensen; sisters, Ruth Zigler, Betty Sutton and Margie Wander; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maretta, sister Marie and brothers Harry and Kenny. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He touched so many lives with his sense of humor and smile. He will be missed dearly. There will be a Memorial Service at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 North Division St., Spokane on Thursday, January 30th at 11:00 AM and a reception to follow at Soul Patrol Club House at 3117 E. Olympic Avenue, Spokane. Memorial contributions may be made to Spokane Food Bank
