      The Late Philip Drake

A letter received by Mr. Ross Milne, of the Royal Hotel, gives further particulars of the sudden death of Mr. Philip Drake, son of Mrs. Annie Gallagher, Uptergrove, on Jun 23, at Sprinfield, Massachusetts, where he had been living since leaving Orillia two years ago. On the evening prior to his death, he appeared to be in the best of health, and accompanied his wife on a visit to friends. Upon returning home he was taken ill. A physician was called, and at 1 o?clock in the morning he appeared to be resting easier, but at 7 o?clock his condition steadily grew worst, death resulting at 8 o?clock. He was a native of Uptergrove, working on the farm until arriving at manhood, when he purchased the store at Warminster from Mrs. Cole. He then entered the employ of the Bell Telephone Company as driver, going to Springfield two years ago. The Springfield Union says: ?Philip A Drake,33 years old died suddenly yesterday morning in his home, 1124 Longmeadow street, of an attack of heart failure which followed a recent attack of pneumonia. He came here in December 1922, from Orillia, Ont., and has been employed in the United States mail terminal room at the Union Station in Springfield since that time. Besides his wife, Mary, he leaves his mother Mrs. Annie Gallagher, of Uptergrove, Ont., and four sisters, Mrs. May Lamb, of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Rose Donnelly and Mrs., Theresa Maloney, of Brechin, Ont. and Mrs. Bella Clitheroe, of Uptergrove, Ont.?
