"JW Callahan Dies; Gravel Products Aide"
Production Manager of Firm for 17 years.
James W. Callahan, 62, of 69 DeKalb St, Tonowanda, for 17 years production manager of the Gravel Products Corp., died yesterday at his home after an illness of several months.
He was born in St. Paul, MN. Before joining the Gravel Products firm, he worked for the Superior Products Corp of Detroit.
Active in the Knights of Columbus, he was past chancellor of Twin City Council and was also a member of Twin City Assembly Fourth Degree, K of C.
Mr. Callahan held membership in the Holy Name Society of St. Francis Church, the Business and Civic Club of Tonowanda and the Buffalo Athletic Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Katryn Lucas; a daughter, Miss Mary Callahan; five sons, Thomas and Patrick of Tonowanda, Eugene of Mankato, MN, Paul of White Bear Lake, MN, and Cyril of Minneapolis, MN, and two brothers, William of Chicago and Stephen of St. Paul.
Prayers will be said at 8:30am Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adams St Tonowanda and a Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock at St. Francis Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
