      Elizabeth Rayburn, the eldest daughter of John and Rosana Rayburn, was born in Canada June 20, 1849 and passed away July 2, 1931 at the age of 82. She with her parents came to Eau Galle, WI but when a child and lived with them until her marriage to James Meehan. Together they established a home in the big valley and lived there until Mr. Meehan's death. No children were born to this union, but adopted a girl named Kate Perkins.

      Elizabeth Rayburn, eldest daughter of John and Rosana Rayburn, was born in Canada June 20, 1849 and passed away July 2, 1931, at the age of 82 years and 12 days. She, with her parents, came to Eau Galle when but a child and lived with them until her marriage with James Meehan of Arkansaw. Together they established a home in the Big Arkansaw valley and lived there until the time of Mr. Meehan's dath. No children were born to this union. Two years late, Mrs. Heehan, with an adopted daughter, moved to Eau Galle, where...
      (Notes from Sam Doughty: Elizabeth's obituary is incomplete, ending at "where." The name typo is as printed. Also, her obituary immediately followed that of Andrew Meehan: Abdrew Meehan, who has been a familiar figure in our city for the past 15 years, died suddenly at the Hotel Durand, a few minutes before noon Tuesday. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Church in this city at 9:00 this morning. The pall bearers were John Rayburn, Lawrence Drier, Thomas Bauer, Alex Berger, James McDonough, and Michael Riley. Mr. Meehan was born in Canada August 1, 1849. He was never married.)

      Eau Galle
      Mrs. Elizabeth Meehan, aged 82 years, passed away Thursday afternoon after a short illness. Funeral services were held in St. Henry's Catholic Church Saturday morning at 8 o'clock by Rev. AB Daul, and burial was made beside her husband who passed away thirty years ago. Five surviving sisters: Mrs. Alice Taylor of Plum City, Mrs. Albert Werrel of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. F.D. Goodrich of Ladysmith, Mrs. Ellen Duffy of Hayward and MRs. Thomas Jordan from Hayward attended the funeral.
