      Noah and Mary-Ann settled the South 1/2 of lot 14, Con.2 Mara. This property was purchased by his father in 1839.

      Beaverton.
      One of the first settlers of this section passed away in Carden, Tuesday in the person of Mr. Noah Thompson, at the ripe age of 80 years. Mr. Thompson's father was the crown patentee of land which now comprises the north eastern portion of the village and was buried in the family plot adjoining the Methodist Church. For some time Mr. Thompson has been living with a son at Mud Lake Carden.
