BARING LOSES GOOD CITIZEN
ARTHUR BUCKLAND COOPER
June 30-1873 - July 9, 1941
----------------------
We regret the passing of one of Baring's most respected risidents in Mr. A. B. Cooper. He was well known as a hard worker and proverbially in harness up to the last. Born at Lot #14, Concession M, Rama township, near the present village of Cooper's Falls, Ontario, June 30, 1873, he came west in 1895 and worked in the Wolseley district for two years and then went further west to Red Deer, Alberta, where he stayed for four years. He came back to Wolseley in 1902 and farmed twelve miles south of the centre for nine years, moving to Baring, Saskatchewan in 1911 until his death on July 9, 1941.
He married Elizabeth J. Guthrie in 1897, who with her daughter, Mrs. John Steadman of Garnet Street, Regina and son Everd, of Basswood, Manitoba, mourn his loss.
Was a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge, Glenavon. Burial took place in the family plot at Moffat cemetery. The Reverend Mr. Anderson, of Glenavon, conducted the services. Mrs. Cooper would like to thank the many friends for floral tributes and kindness shown in her turn of trouble.
