    Notes
    • THE CANADIAN POST, LINDSAY
      UPTERGROVE
      July 25, 1884
Miss Mary Ann Clark, second daughter
of Mr. Patrick Clark of Mara, was
married at St. Columbkill's on July 21st,
to Mr. Frances Morin of Longford Mills.

      THE ORILLIA TIMES
      UPTERGROVE---July 31, 1884
      Wedding Bells.---The new bell at
Uptergrove rang its first peals of joy for
its godmother. Mr. Francis Morin of
Longford Mills, accompanied by P. Regin,
of the same place, put in an appearance
early of Monday morning, the 21st inst.
Something unusual was going to take
place. Very soon the bell was pealing,
the organ was discoursing music under
the able hand of Miss M. A. Healy, the
choir led on by the Misses B. Healy and
      B. Clarke, rendered sweet and pious
hymns while the bride, Miss M. A. Clarke
supported by Mr. P. Regin, and the groom
Mr. Francis Morin accompanied by Miss
Maggie Clarke, sister of the bride
walked up to the altar where the solemn
nuptial benediction was imparted by the
Rev. Father Rey. After the ceremony a
grand breakfast was partaken of by a
number of relatives and friends at
      McDonald's hotel, Uptergrove, where the
Misses Getting and others entertained them
with singing. All being over the old time
slipper was flying in the air as the newly
      married couple departed for Coboconk,
the former residence of the groom. The
absence of the father of the bride, who
was detained at home by age, was the
only hindrance to the complete happiness
      of the day.
