From: LUELLA & DOLLARD HEALY - FAMILY MEMOIRS

Luella & Dollard farmed at R.R.#5,Orillia, Ont. from 1937 t o 1973. At th is time they retired to 239 McKinnell St. Ori llia, Ont. Luella & Dollard w ere hard working people who p rovided a happy home with strong faith, hi gh moral standar ds, Christian family values and a great abundance of lov e . Although we envied our cousin Paul Hannan (Paul was an on ly child and t herefore had more candy and toys than we did ) we lacked for nothing. We we re provided with every neces sity one could imagine. Luella & Dollard we re truly the be st parents anyone could ever hope for.
Music was a very important part of our family life. Everyon e participat ed except our poor mother who was completely t one deaf and unable to si ng a single note; yet she never f ailed to catch us when we were playing o ur favorite countr y & western hit song instead of our music lesson. We app re ciate now what a sacrifice she made in sitting with us fo r an hour ea ch day to make sure we accomplished our musi c lesson. We thought Ed had li fe easier because mother tru ly did not know what he was practicing on t he guitar or th e violin but dad always knew what he was playing. We cou l d always get away with more tricks with dad than with mothe r. We are a ll now very thankful and most appreciative of a ll our parent's sacrific es for us. Dollard died in Novembe r, 1977 and Luella died in February, 198 5. Both were bless ed with sudden deaths from single heart attacks wi th no pr evious illnesses.
