      Rathburn, April 17th,--- A social event of double interest took place on Tuesday, April 10th, when Miss Mary Ann Duffy and Mr. Alex. McIsaac on the one hand and Miss Maggie Duffy and Mr. John Doyle, of Millington, on the other, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, St. Columbkill's R. C. church, Uptergrove, was the scene of the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Father Hogan in the presence of a large assemblage. The brides and their bridesmaids, Misses Lizzie and Katie Duffy, were all prettily attired in becoming costumes and looked charming. After the nuptial knot was tied a large turnout of carriages numbering about twenty-five, repaired to the residence of the brides' father where a most elaborate spread was done ample justice to. The two happy couples left on the afternoon train for Toronto, returning on Thursday. A long, happy and prosperous life is the wish of their numerous friends.       The occasion of the return of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McIsaac and Mr. and Mrs. John Doyle from their wedding trip was celebrated by a party on a grand scale at the home of Mr. Bernard Duffy, last Thursday night. Contingents from Orillia, Uptergrove, Atherley, Millington and Rama were in attendance, making up altogether the most successful gathering of the season, due particularly to the untiring efforts of the members of the family.

      Death of Alexander McIsaac
      The death of Mr. Alexander McIsaac occurred at his home in Uptergrove, on Friday, November 24. Mr. McIsaac was one of Uptergrove's older residents having been born there sixty-eight years ago. In 1894 he was married to Miss Mary Duffy, of Rathburn, her death occurring about twenty years ago. Three sons remain, Messrs. Donald, Bernard and Alexander all at home also on brother and one sister, Mr. D. J. McIsaac, Orillia, and Mrs. Harriagan, of Kirkfield. Mr. McIsaac was a much repsected member of the community at Rathburn. For a number of years he served as a school trustee, and will be missed. The funeral was held on Monday from his late residence, lot 22, concession 10, Mara township, to St. Columbkill's church where Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Flannigan. The pallbearers were Messrs. John McIsaac, Thos. McIsaac, P. Duffy, P. Mahoney, A. McDonald, and A. Steele. Numerous mass cards were indicative of the large number of friends who learned with regret of the passing of Mr. McIsaac. Amongst those attending the funeral were Miss Beatrice McIsaac, of Toronto, and Mr. Roy McIsaac, of Toronto Normal School.
