Cranney, Joan (nee Hughes) (Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Branch #34, Orillia) Passed away peacefully in her 79th year at Spencer House, Orillia on Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the arms of her best friend and husband of 59 years Bob Cranney. Survived by her children Dorothy Fountain (Dan), Peggy MacInnis (Ron), Owen (Patty), Paul (Patti) and Lyle (Dianne). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jeff, Ashley, Melissa, Eric, Frances, Bridget, Kyle and Jonathan. Great grandchildren Justice, Samuel, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister of Barb Penty. Predeceased by brothers George, Norm, Walt, Tom and Doug Hughes. Joan will be remembered fondly by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and their families. The family wish to thank Dr. D. Collins and the staff at Spencer House for their loving care and support. The late Mrs. Joan Cranney will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels 115 West St.,N., Orillia on Monday, January 25th 2016 at 10 am. Interment; St. Michael's Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzhiemers Society would be appreciated. Ladies of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #34 Ladies Auxiliary are asked to gather for service in the parlour on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm., and Parish Prayers to be said in the parlour Sunday evening at 6:45 pm.
