      CHEBOYGAN -- Dympna M. Poirier, 93, of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. A resident of Cheboygan since 1951, moving from Detroit, Dympna was born June 14, 1909 in Tawas City, Mich., the daughter of James and Margaret (McDonald) Corrigan. On Nov. 16, 1935 in Detroit, she married Albert Poirier, who preceded her in death in 1991. She was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, was a member of the Alter Society and enjoyed reading. Dympna is survived by one daughter, Margaret (James) Mick, of Cheboygan; one grandson, Bryan Mick of Lansing; a special niece, Kathleen (Jeff) Sanborn of Wyoming, Ohio; and their children Sarah and David; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, James, and Rev. Donald Corrigan. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 20, 2002, at the Christian Funeral Home, with a wake service being held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church. The funeral Mass takes place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Megge officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be directed to the Cheboygan Health Care Center Activity Fund.
