      "John Grogan, formerly of this city, and a brother of Edward Grogan, died at Mt. Sinai hospital in Milwaukee Saturday evening, January 21, following an operation for gall stones.
      Mr. Grogan was born in Erie, PA May 7, 1872. His parents moved to Stanley when he was quite young and much of his earlier life was spent here. For a number of years he was employed as a brakeman for the SM&P Rail Road. He married Miss Mayme McGrogan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McGrogan of Thorp, and shortly afterwards moved to Milwaukee where he was employed by the Donahue and Stratton Grain Elevator, Co.
      The remains were brought here Tuesday and the funeral was held from St. Mary's Church Wednesday morning, Father O'Connor officiating. The pallbearers were SF Gospadar; Wm Hanley, Jr; Geo Flannigan; Oliver Laroche; Jack Kean and Peter Schneider. Besides his wife and little daughter, Jane, he leaves to mourn their loss one sister and five brothers; Mrs. James Burns and James Grogan of Portland, Oregon, William and Peter Grogan of Milwaukee, Edward of Stanley, and Charles of Chicago.
      Those who attended the funeral from out of town are: Mr. and Mrs. PA Grogan, William Grogan, Miss Mattie Grogan and Mrs. Anna Grogan of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Newberger of Stevens Point, Charles Grogan of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. John Grogan of Thorp, Murdock Morrison of Chippewa Falls, Edward Grogan of Oconto, Miss Emily Grogan of Eau Claire, William McGrogan of WI Rapids, Mrs. Peter Peterson of Bemidji, MN, Mrs. E. Powers of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Charles Emmerton , George, Joe, and John Prince of Bloomer."
