Mr. Daniel Morrison, who was killed in the wreck at Webbwood on Friday was a son of Mr. John Morrison, of Black River near Longford Mills. He was about twenty-eight years of age and was just returning to his work in the lumber camp at Echo Bay, leaving Orillia on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Andrew Morrison, who left for the scene of the wreck immediately upon hearing of it and who is bringing his brother's remains to Longford to-day, is married to a sister of Mrs. W Stephenson, Front Street , Orillia. He leaves four sisters, and two brothers. Mrs. James Gethons, Longford; Mrs. John McAuley, Longford; Mrs. John Gethons, Longford; Mrs. Thomas Lytton (sic) (Lytle) Brechin; Messrs. Morton Morrison, Longford; and Andrew Morrison, Sault St. Marie.

Spanish River derailment (Jan. 21, 1910): The combination of excessive speed and a faulty rail caused the CPR passenger train No. 7 to jump the tracks as it approached the railway crossing at the Spanish River west of Sudbury. Both the first-class coach and dining car plunged into the icy river while others careened down the embankment. The derailment killed 43.
