RATHBURN
RATHBURN, August 12.---- The death of Alexander McIsaac, an old and respected pioneer, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Lambe, on July 20 after a lingering illness. The late Mr. McIsaac was born in Scotland 87 years ago, and came to Canada in 1849, settling in Mara where he spent the balance of his life. His wife, whose death occurred three years ago, was Miss Mary Mahoney, of Atherley. They raised a family of eleven children , eight of whom are still living, six sons, Thomas, Andrew, Donald and John of Uptergrove, James, of Sudbury, and Robt., of Toronto, and two daughters, Mrs. Lambe, of Rathburn, and Mrs. Duffy, of Millington. One son was lost in the sinking of the Maine at Alaska. The funeral of the late Mr. McIsaac took place on July 23, from St. Collumbkille church, Uptergrove, high mass being performed by Rev. Father Novert, Orillia, assisted by Rev. Father Finnigan, of Toronto, and Rev. Father Sheridan, Brechin. The six sons acted as pallbearers. Mr. McIsaac was a kindly and respected neighbour and sincere sympathy is extended to the family by their many friends.
