Full Account of the Disaster
Last night, Monday Feb. 4th. will long be remembered by the people of the flourishing little village of Victoria Road, a fire by which property to the value of fifteen thousand dollars was destroyed, occurred, and the loss to the village will be almost incalculable.- especially at this season of the year. The list of losses is given as follows: Acbieson’s grist, saw and shingle mill, the leading industry in the village; Boden’s carriage works; A.C. Graham’s dwelling house; J. Magwood’s dwelling house; the total loss amounting to the sum above stated. The insurance cannot at present be learned, but the loss must necessarily be heavy.
